There is more than one way to homeschool and it can be unique to every family? If you didn’t know there were different styles, don’t worry, most people don’t.

Meet Your Instructor
My name is Michayla and I love homeschooling.
I started with hopes and dreams and quickly found that all my teaching degrees and all my years of working with children hadn't prepared me for this!
I had to shake off any misconceptions of homeschooling that were fighting for space in my brain and apply what I knew to be true - that all children learn in different ways and I should listen to my heart and to my girls.
Like so many parents who want to homeschool, I actually lacked confidence in my own ability to adequately educate my girls, despite having been a classroom teacher. But...
Creative methods. Freedom from structure. Doing what worked for us. Coming up with my own formula for what I believe brings an excellent education. This was freeing. I found that I could do it. And YOU CAN TOO.
You don't have to do homeschool in a certain way. It is unique for each family. Once you know the different philosophies and WHY you are homeschooling, you can then start building what is going to be a beautiful experience.
I have spent countless hours helping friends discover what works for them in homeschooling. I have watched the joy spark when they find the right curriculum and see their children thrive. AND THAT RIGHT THERE is what inspired me to create How To Homeschool. I want to equip anyone who wants to homeschool with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to create a thriving homeschool experience.
